NASC Members Chris Sedgeman Scaffolding Ltd win Cornish Family Business of the Year Award
South West NASC members, Chris Sedgeman Scaffolding Ltd have won the Best Family Business Award in the recent 10th Annual Cornwall Business Awards.
These awards are organised and presented by the Cornwall Development Company in association with Business Cornwall Magazine and the Cornwall Chamber. They are billed as being “the most prestigious awards in the county and a celebration of innovation and achievement.” The award ceremony took place at St. Mellion International Resort on 14 May.
A spokesperson for the Cornish Awards said: “The Cornwall Business Awards are a celebration of innovation, achievement, and entrepreneurial spirit within the Cornish business community. This prestigious evening event shines a spotlight on the amazing people who help drive the Cornish economy and make it one of the best places in the country to do business.”
NASC’s Managing Director, Robin James said: “Chris Sedgeman Scaffolding Ltd is a family-run company with tremendous expertise in the scaffolding industry. They have been involved in a series of fascinating scaffolding contracts and have now achieved local as well as national recognition, having recently won the coveted Access & Scaffolding category at the Construction News 2015 Specialists Awards.
“We are very happy for them and wish them well with their current and future projects. They join an elite group of award winners and nominees within the NASC membership, all of whom strive for the highest standards of safety and industry best practice at all times.”

The Cornish scaffolding firm – responsible for recent scaffolding contracts on Lloyds Bank in Penzance, Penzance Railway Station, Dawlish Sea Defences, St Michael’s Mount, Bodmin Keep Military Museum, Lundy Island Lighthouse and a Plettac pyramid system scaffold at South Crofty Tin Mine – won a Silver award in the same Cornwall Business Awards category in 2013.
