NASC Member Wins Industry Award for Health and Safety

This year saw a number of NASC members shortlisted for the 2010 Specialist Awards, hosted by Construction News, including Allied Scaffolding, Scaffold Erection Services and Turner Access. We are pleased to announce that Scaffold Erection Services were named winner of the award for Access and Scaffolding.

Birmingham based regional scaffolding contractor Scaffold Erection Services (SES) has been trading for the past 35 years. The company is a proactive member of the NASC and it's MD, Kevin Ward serves as the chairman of the Health & Safety Committee for the NASC.

SES says it focuses on setting very high standards in health and safety. The company thinks that health and safety in the sector is far too focussed on working at height, but statistics prove the most frequent cases of injury and ill health are related to manual handling.

SES have introduced a number of initiatives to overcome these issues, investing heavily in ways to improve working conditions for its operatives while also increasing productivity rates.

The judges said "Very strong entry with emphasis on health and training with an innovative flow".
