NASC Spell out why Main Contractors should only use Regulated Scaffolding Firms.
The National Access & Scaffolding Confederation have launched a new 24 page information brochure which has been designed to explain to Clients and Main Contractors why adopting a policy to only use regulated scaffolding firms helps them meet their requirements under the CDM 2007 Regulations for competence.
The brochure highlights typical questions that clients/main contractors may have before considering adopting a scaffolding policy and then answers them directly and factually. Furthermore throughout the brochure there are testimonials from key construction industry figures and companies including Bovis, Willmott Dixon, Osborne, Carillion, BAM Construct and the HSE who already support or endorse the use of NASC members only.
“The momentum is clearly gathering pace in terms of the UK insisting on only using regulated scaffolding companies” states NASC President, Bob Whincap. “The sooner all scaffolding is only carried out by regulated scaffolding firms the sooner sites in the UK will become safer environments. This brochure has been designed to take the debate to the masses and help convince those companies yet to make the decision that this is the right thing to do. Not only do we (NASC) spell it out but you hear it direct from the construction industry too!”
The NASC has already sent this to the Top 100 Construction contractors in the UK and armed its membership with numerous copies, in the start of what will be a continued campaign.
The brochure also details all the guidance available from the NASC (all of which NASC members must comply with and work to) and indicates what will be the next issues to be addressed and actioned for the scaffolding industry.
The brochure is available free of charge and is available by emailing the NASC on enquiries@nasc.org.uk
