The Construction industry are no longer willing to tolerate non-regulated scaffolding companies
A record 21 new members have joined the NASC in 2008 so far, taking the total number of member companies to 182, (a further 10 are expected to have joined by the autumn). Compare this to 2007’s total figure of 17 new members and these figures clearly demonstrate the building and construction industries support for using regulated scaffolding companies.
The NASC full membership continues to grow without any compromise on the standard for qualification. Potential members have to pass a detailed desktop audit followed by an office and site audit. Only once these processes have been completed successfully are applicants submitted for membership. All NASC members must also complete subsequent biennial audits to ensure continued compliance.
The NASC are also not afraid to take action against non-complying members, 2 companies have already been expelled in 2008.

To ensure that the confederation are equipped to meet the demand for regulated scaffolding contractors the NASC are relocating their central London office. The relocation of the NASC headquarters in August will provide improved communications and space for continued growth, while still remaining close to a high number of the industries influential organisations.
